Main Stage

The Main Stage season is where the meat and bones of our performing arts organization rest most comfortably. We have, for 20 years, brought entertainers in dance, theater and music to our stage along with thought leaders (sometimes direct from TED) to our stage. We love spreading ideas, as well as nurturing love for classically trained dancers, slam poets and music that lifts us and makes us cry all in one song.

Main Stage brings opportunities for students to work with our talent for more than half our shows. And we offer all Summit County students $5 tickets to allow the witnessing of live performance-often. Love of the arts can last a lifetime if you build the muscle of appreciation early on.

We also offer free tickets to military families, First Responders, clients of the Peace House women’s shelter and other underserved populations in our community.

St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series

The St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concerts series has been entertaining , educating, and illuminating residents and guests for 15 years. It brings all genres of music to the outdoor stage- from classical (Lucia Micarelli this year) to legends (Don Felder of the Eagles) to more emerging performers (Chris Blue, winner of Season 12 of The Voice). Through St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights, Park City Institute introduced Aloe Black, John Batiste and six-time Grammy nominee Sarah Bareilles to Utah audiences. We have also brought country classics, including Willie Nelson and Dierks Bentley, along with legendary performers from BB King to Etta James.

Thank you to the generous sponsors, donors and patrons who saw us a through the summer 2018 venue change that brought us back to City Park after 14 years elsewhere. Join us next year on the grass to listen to amazing musicians perform under stars so big and close you might touch them.

Mega Genius Supply Store

Based on the highly successful 826 Valencia project for which author Dave Eggers received the 2008 TED prize, the Mega Genius Supply Store and IQ HQ is a free after school literacy tutoring center located at 435 Swede Alley in Old Town, Park City. The success is based on working one-on-one with students who need extra attention outside the school day. It is what we like to call “the third place” - not home or school, but a separate place that is safe and warm and dry with a caring adult (and free snacks) and giant white boards and materials to create with. And endless books to curl up with... The space has been fully donated to the Park City Institute for nine years. It is managed by Institute staff and a revolving team of volunteers. It always needs support of supplies and volunteers. And students.
